Becoming Unstuck
Come join us this Sunday as we meet a man who was ill for 38 years, lying by the pool hoping for healing. Jesus asks him a striking question: “Do you want to be made well?”
The question invites the man to reflect on whether he’s ready to move forward, to leave behind the identity he has carried for so long, and to participate actively in his own restoration. Jesus tells him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”
Healing comes, but the man has to act. He has to rise, pick up what once held him, and take steps into a new life. Many of us, like this man, can become stuck with old patterns, hurts, or fears. We might wait for change to come from outside. Becoming unstuck means being willing to let go of excuses, to hear Christ’s invitation, and to take the next step, however small, in faith. Transformation is not just about waiting for a miracle—it’s about leaning into the life God is offering us, choosing daily to walk forward.
