No Short Cuts
We so often value the destination more than we do the journey itself. We like fast and easy because we are intent on getting to where we want to go yesterday. But unfortunately, when it comes to spiritual maturity, there are no short cuts. Developing growth and character takes time, attention, focus, and discipline. But if we give ourselves to the day in and day out pursuit of such we will not only live into the best versions of ourselves, but we will also enjoy the journey along the way. This week we look at what it takes to build a life worth living.
Father, thank you that you have brought each of us together this morning.
We humbly surrender our lives to you in worship and praise.
As we gather we remember those who are not with us today -
For those who are sick we ask for healing,
And for those away from us we ask for your blessing to be on them.
We invite Your Holy Spirit to move freely among us.
Come dwell in each of our hearts.
Equip us, challenge us, comfort us, teach us.
Inspire us as we learn more about your majestic ways.
Father, as we meet now may we behold Your beauty and encounter your
grace. We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus.
Amen.
