#1: Introduction
Contrary to what many of us were taught growing up, Israel’s creation stories weren’t designed to answer 21st century scientific questions about the origins of the universe, or the biological evolution of human beings.
When the ancients wrote Genesis, they were dealing with more pressing questions about the nature of God & what God’s relationship was to creation. In order to understand why these questions were so pressing, it is critical that we know the context in which Genesis was written.
Come join us this week as we begin our new fall series exploring the 1st 11 chapters of the 1st book of the Bible, as we explore the creation of the cosmos and what it teaches us today about who God is, who we are, and why any of it matters.
