Young People are an integral part of our church family. As such, we strive to partner with parents in helping our teens come to know Christ and experience His presence as they live out their faith.
To develop authentic faith and Christlikeness through biblical teaching, fellowship, and service to the church and our community.
Each Sunday morning our junior and senior high students meet together to interact and engage with the lesson, where we strive to engage every learning style in each lesson. This fall we will be learning about our identity and purpose in Christ using a curriculum called “So What” that stimulates questions in a safe place to help students have ownership of their faith in Jesus. It is our desire that each teenager will grow in his or her love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The junior high students meet every Sunday evening from 6:00 pm-7: 45 pm. Each Sunday includes having lots of fun playing games, praying and engaging in a group discussion concerning the weekly lesson. The curriculum we use on Sunday evening is, “Simply Youth Group” that’s designed to engage teenagers with discussion questions and activities that help them apply their faith to their daily lives. We want our teenagers to know that God infinitely loves them and wants them to become the best version of themselves as they become more like Christ.
The senior High youth meet every Thursday evening in the youth room from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Our youth group loves to eat pizza together, hang out and catch up on one another’s lives before we dive into a weekly lesson. Our lessons are targeted to help teens develop authentic faith, spiritual practices, learn about meaningful friendships and relationships, how to grow in wisdom and increase our knowledge of serving others. Our emphasis is on becoming an authentic disciple of Jesus, we want to look like the guy we are following.
Why We Serve:
Serving people in our church and our community is an expression of our faith and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our youth group serves refreshments during the 2nd Sunday of every month during our church fellowship time. They participate in our annual summer community VBS, as well as our quarterly food drives. The youth also serve in worship in the children’s program through their involvement in the KWLS program and also on the adult worship team. This fall our youth are scheduled to serve at Sea Brook Adult Residential facility located in Tinton Falls and we will be participating in Family Promise’s annual Cardboard Box City campaign to raise funds and awareness for homelessness in Monmouth County.
