During one of his trips to India, pastor Vincent was inspired by the people of the Union Church in Metelli. At the conclusion of their worship service people brought their offerings forward. If they had money (rupees), they gave. But if they didn’t, if they couldn’t afford to give, they came and offered what they had available to them. In some cases, it was a bag of rice or some other food staple. In others, it was a chicken like the one you see to the right. They then placed their goods in the middle of a circle and auctioned them off to the highest bidder. After their goods were purchased, they took from the money they made and they gave some portion of it back to the church. Everyone, no matter how much or little they had, found a way to give and to give from a place of great joy! In light of this amazing example, we want to learn from our Indian brothers and sisters and become more generous with the resources entrusted to us. As you consider what you might give, we ask that you pray and ask God how He would have you and your family respond. Please remember that giving to Grace is an investment in the health and growth of the ongoing ministries of our church in the local community and beyond.
Our budget supports ministries such as: our Children’s & Youth Ministries, Congregational and Community Care, Worship, Small Groups, Local and Global Missions (homelessness, poverty, hunger, prisons and at-risk children), Benevolence, Outreach and Leadership Development, Staffing, Administration, and facility and grounds upkeep.
