Where Will My Child Go?

As children belong to and are an integral part of our church body, we commit to coming alongside parents in the raising of them. Together, our goal is to see kids come to know who Christ is, experience how He works in their lives, and integrate them as important and valuable people in the life of the church. As such, children (ages 4 and up) start out in the worship service with their parents, because we believe faith is more caught than taught.

Our sanctuary features a PrayGround where children can choose to color, play or read quietly during the worship time.

After children are released from the worship service, we start Sunday School with a brief large–group gathering time for prayer and announcements, which is led by tweens and teens (KWLS). Then children are placed into age–appropriate classrooms in order to best meet the needs of each child.

BABIES & YOUNG CHILDREN: We strive to provide familiar faces and welcoming surroundings to the youngest members of our church family. Each month is devoted to a different bible story that will be taught in various hands-on ways each week. Right now we are using Group’s Pray ‘n Play curriculum.

The Nursery provides a safe, predictable environment for infants, crawlers and toddlers to begin a relationship with God and His family – the children and adults of the Christian community. The Nursery is open and staffed at the start of each service. While caregivers are available, you are welcome to bring your youngster into the sanctuary for any or all of the worship service.

OLDER CHILDREN: We seek to reach into children’s busy lives with not just another activity, but with the life–changing message of God’s truth. Our lessons feature bible stories, responsive activity time and prayer. Currently we are using the curriculum Life With God for Children that focuses on Spiritual Disciplines in a child-appropriate manner.

Ways to Practice the Spiritual Disciplines as a Family

K/One Corner (4yrs – 1st graders)
KIDMO Room (2nd – 5th graders)

The safety of the children who attend our programs is of utmost importance. Therefore, our teachers are all screened and background checked. They regularly attend abuse awareness and prevention training sessions.

God is doing amazing things with and thru the Children’s Ministry. If you have any questions or would like to join the team, please feel free to contact the Director of Child and Family Life: Bonnie Deroski at 732.493.5033 or bonniedgcc@comcast.net.
